Moeli Reader (the “App”) is provided by the Moeli development team (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This Policy applies to all platform versions of the App and its supporting services. We process information according to the features you use, your configurations, and the permissions you grant.
1. Local Data
Local reading, library management, and local image processing take place on your device. The App stores the files you select, library and reading data, settings, and cached data to provide the relevant features. Using only these local features does not cause your book content to be uploaded to us.
Account credentials, passwords, keys, and other configuration information are used for the corresponding services. Operational and error logs are stored locally and are not uploaded automatically. If you choose to export, share, or submit them as feedback, the selected content will be provided to the corresponding recipient.
2. Online Features and Use of Information
1. Full Version Unlock: To unlock the full version, restore entitlements, verify authorization, and manage devices, the App sends device or app installation identifiers, device names, platform information, operating system and app versions, and any email addresses, authorization credentials, or transaction verification information required for the operation to its supporting services. Depending on the platform implementation, identifiers are generated by hashing device information or are randomly generated. The services retain necessary authorization status, device associations, and verification records. The App may automatically connect to the internet to verify existing entitlements.
2. Mounting and Synchronization: Based on your configuration, the App accesses local folders, cloud storage, or remote services; processes service addresses, account credentials, passwords, authorization tokens, and account display information; and transfers the corresponding files, library data, reading data, and configurations. Synchronized data may include archive extraction passwords and other information stored in the database. Remote services may also receive reading progress. Supporting authorization services may participate in account authorization and token refresh. Some connection credentials may be synchronized with your configuration, so please protect synchronized copies and the associated keys.
3. Translation and Text-to-Speech: Online services receive the text to be processed, necessary authentication information, and service parameters. Continuous text-to-speech playback may send upcoming text that is preloaded. System text-to-speech is handled by your device’s speech engine; its internet use depends on the system, engine, and voice settings.
4. Transfers, Sharing, and Updates: Local network book transfers temporarily receive files sent by devices that can access the transfer address. Exporting and sharing send selected content to the specified location or app. Update checks request version information. When a connection is made, the corresponding service receives your IP address and necessary request information.
Tasks you enable, such as automatic synchronization, update checks, and connection maintenance for authorized services, may run when the App starts, resumes, or operates in the background. Third-party services process the data they receive under their own policies.
3. Permissions and System Capabilities
Depending on the platform and features used, the App accesses files, photos, the internet, or the local network, and uses capabilities such as background playback, synchronization, and keeping the screen on. Biometric verification is performed by the operating system. The App receives only the verification result and does not access or store raw fingerprint or facial data.
You can manage the relevant permissions and switches through the App or your system settings. Revoking a permission may affect features that depend on it. Permissions are used only for their corresponding features.
4. Data Protection and Retention
We do not sell your personal information or use your reading data for third-party advertising tracking. Information is provided to the corresponding services only for the purposes described above, or as required by law. Where separate notice or consent is legally required, we will follow the applicable procedures.
Some sensitive credentials are stored using platform-provided secure storage. This does not mean that all books, regular databases, synchronized copies, or exported files are encrypted. Please use trusted services and networks, protect your devices and keys, and back up your data regularly.
Local data can be managed through the corresponding features. Information held by supporting services is retained only for as long as necessary to provide services, maintain security, and fulfill legal obligations. The storage locations, retention periods, and deletion procedures of third-party services are governed by their own policies and may involve processing outside your region.
5. Managing Personal Information and Closing Accounts or Terminating Entitlements
You may email Yunaki@moeli.top to request access to, a copy of, correction of, or deletion of the email addresses, authorization credentials, device identifiers, device associations, and authorization verification records we hold about you. Please specify the relevant email address, your request, and the scope of information involved. After any necessary identity verification, we will promptly process your request and inform you of the outcome. If we cannot fulfill your request, we will explain why.
You can also view entitlement and device information through “Settings → Unlock Full Version,” “Manage Authorized Devices,” and related screens, and use the available options to link or unlink an email address or remove a device. “Delete Email Account” only unlinks the current authorization credential from the email address; it does not close the entire account or delete all information held on the server.
To close an account or terminate authorization entitlements, email the address above with “Account Closure” or “Entitlement Termination” in your request, specifying the associated email address and the scope of your request. After verifying your identity, explaining the effects on full version access and entitlement restoration, and confirming your intention, we will discontinue the corresponding services, remove associations or revoke authorization, and delete or anonymize the relevant personal information in accordance with the law.
Information that must be retained by law or that cannot temporarily be deleted for technical reasons will be retained solely for storage and necessary security protection, and will be deleted once the conditions for deletion are met. Uninstalling the App or clearing local data does not automatically delete information held on the server. To manage or close third-party accounts or delete information held by third parties, please use the channels provided by the relevant service provider.
6. Minors, Updates, and Contact
Minors should use the App under the guidance of a parent or guardian. Users under the age of 14 should obtain consent from their parent or guardian before submitting personal information. Parents or guardians may contact us to verify and manage the relevant information.
This Policy takes effect when the App version containing it is released. We will update the Policy when features or information processing practices change. Changes involving processing purposes, categories of information, or significant rights and interests will be subject to legally required notice and consent procedures.
If you have questions about privacy or data processing, please contact the Moeli development team at Yunaki@moeli.top.
